Editorial Board Job Description
| Position | Common tasks |
| Editor-in-Chief & Assistant Editor in Chief | General oversight and responsibility for the journal. May include reviewing manuscripts, suggesting reviewers, publishing the journal, promotion etc. |
| Advisory Panel | To give advice and recommendations to modify journal policies and solution of day-to-day problems faced by journal. |
| Editor (Associate, Section) | Reviews manuscripts, makes recommendations. Locates peer reviewers. |
| Copyeditor | Edits papers for clarity, adherence to style guide. |
| Layout Editor | Formats paper for publication (e.g. typesetting, different formats, HTML etc.) |
| Managing Editor | Oversees the journal’s daily activities. Ensures submissions stay on track. |
| Coordinator Editorial Assistant | To coordinate with all the assistant editors and reporting the progress to Managing Editor |
| Editorial assistant | Tasks as needed. |
| Webmaster | Maintains website, updates with changes etc. |
| Proofreader | Checks the final article for errors before publication. |
| Advisory Board | Consulted as needed by journal on policies, etc. |
| Coordinator, Reviewer Panel | To coordinate with the reviewers to motivate them subsequently catalyzing the manuscript review process, to monitor the time of review process taken by stakeholder |
| Member Review Board | To review the manuscript in time. |
